Subject :- Appointment of a sitting MP as a polling agent.

Refer your message No. En/OP/71, dated 11.10.1996 (.) There is no repeat no prohibition against a sitting MP being appointed as polling agent (.) A polling agent has to perform several functions even prior to commencement of poll and till after the close of poll at the polling station for which he is appointed and he is therefore expected to remain at that polling station during the process of poll (.) In view thereof (,) the same person may not be appointed as polling agent for more than one polling station (.) ends (.).
