Subject: Ballot Boxes - Noting down of Serial nos. by polling agents - regarding.

I am directed to state that as you are aware Serial No. have been engraved on every ballot box to be used in the coming general elections. The Commission has decided that if any of the polling agents of a contesting candidate wants to note down the Serial Nos. of ballot boxes supplied for use at the polling station and of the ballot box (es) actually used, he may be allowed by the Presiding Officers to note down such Serial No. of the ballot boxes.

2. These instructions may be brought to the notice of the Returning Officers/Presiding Officers for their information and compliance Immediately.

3. These instructions may also be given wide publicity for the benefit of the candidates and their polling agents.
