Subject: Supply of cream/pink wove paper for
printing of electoral rolls/ballot papers -
regarding.
The procedure being followed so far in the matter of
procurement of paper for printing of electoral rolls
and printing of ballot papers needs a change in view
of the free availability of paper in the market and
the absence of statutory control on prices by the
Ministry of Industry.
2. The revised procedure to be followed for
procurement of paper with immediate effect, is as
follows;
(i) Henceforth, the Chief Electoral Officers will
directly place orders for their requirements of paper
along with detailed delivery instructions on the
Paper Mill selected by them under intimation to the
Commission. While placing the orders, the Chief
Electoral Officers may take into account all relevant
factors, but must ensure specification of paper,
quality of paper and timely delivery.
(ii) In case of any anticipated difficulty in
procuring the paper well in time, the Chief Electoral
Officers may approach the Commission.
3. Details of paper Mills, as and when received from
the Ministry of Industry will be sent to you.
4. Please acknowledge receipt of the letter.
